SYMPTOMCAUSECORRECTION

Dirty stove / chimneyThoroughly clean the stove and chimney/vent system.
Draft problem Use a draft meter to check draft levels. Adjust so the draft in the stove and chimney are properly balanced, following the owner’s manual.
Faulty combustion blower Verify the combustion blower is running smoothly and moving adequate air. Replace the blower if it fails to start or runs poorly.
Stove not feeding properlyFuel obstruction Make sure nothing is blocking the flow of coal from the hopper to the feeder. This unit is intended to burn anthracite rice coal.
Pusher block Confirm the pusher block slides freely and is not stuck by rust or fines. Recheck the feed adjustment setting.
Pusher assembly Inspect the forks on the pusher assembly. They should be straight and spaced about 1 7/8″–2″ apart. Verify the cam bearing travels correctly in the pusher assembly and adjust if required.
Faulty wiring Examine wiring to the feed system. Repair as needed and confirm all motors are plugged into the proper outlets on the timer box.
Faulty feed motor Make sure the feed motor switch is turned ON. When the feed light on the control box is illuminated, check for voltage at the feed motor. If power is present and the motor will not turn, replace the feed motor.
Stove goes out during maintenance cycleTimer box settings Reconfirm the timer/control box settings. Suggested starting values are “on time” = 4 minutes, “off time” = 12 minutes, “extend time” = 2 minutes. Refer to the owner’s manual for a full explanation of each setting.
One or more motors do not runPower at the outletCheck that the outlet supplies the correct voltage and polarity.
Faulty wiring Verify each motor is plugged into the correct receptacle on the timer box and inspect for loose or damaged wiring.
Faulty motor(s) When the matching light on the timer box is lit, check for voltage at the motor. If voltage is present and the motor does not operate, replace the motor.
Faulty timer box Inspect wiring inside the timer box and repair as needed. If problems persist, replace the timer box.
Carbon monoxide detector alarmingDraft problem Install or use a draft gauge and adjust the system so the chimney and stove draft are properly balanced. See the owner’s manual for guidance.
Dirty stove / chimneyClean the stove passages and chimney/vent thoroughly.
